Yesterday it was announced that all the flights to Rhodes and Kos that were originally advertised as Air Berlin operated will instead by operated by FlyNiki. FlyNiki already did the flights from Austria as up to now it has been the Austrian operating company in the Air Berlin group. It is expected that the same planes and crews will be doing the flights – whether they get a new paint job and new uniforms in time remains to be seen.
There are several exceptions:
Leipzig/Halle to Kos is cancelled, and the existing flyNiki route Salzburg to Kos has also been cancelled. Other airlines operate on these routes, so there’s still a service of sorts. I suspect cancellation due to poor loadings has been bundled in with the general announcements – there are lots of other summer-sun cancellations that don’t affect Rhodes or Kos – for example no less than seven other Greek destinations from Vienna are cancelled.
Salzburg to Rhodes has lost one of its two flights a week, so has Berlin Tegel to Rhodes.
The days of the week operated and/or timings have changed for almost every flight so I’ve updated the flight schedules – these are included in the complete set issued so far:
2017 Flights to Rhodes and Kos from Italy – version 1
2017 Flights to Rhodes and Kos from Czech Republic, Cyprus, Hungary, Poland, Latvia, Lithuania and Slovakia – version 2
2017 Flights to Rhodes and Kos from Scandanavia and Finland – version 1
